Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (presently OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 points in the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi, an Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. She took part in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She won in 1970. Her first ever international event in 1972 she won the event having won three golds. At her first competitive event in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals as well as one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also became the first woman in history to dismount the bars in parallel with the double backward salto. Her path into the entertainment industry began during her teens when she started performing as a figure skater alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol started her entertainment career in her teens. Early on she was a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades featured performances of ice-skating by actors.
